Hey there you fine things! Happy Monday! I hope your Fourth of July weekend was wonderful, and you’re rested and rejuvenated for another week ahead :)

weekend happenings

Our weekend was fairly low-key (and I’m super duper thankful for that!) and went by way too quickly as always.  Lemme tell you all about it!

Friday

I had off work (yay!) and slept in and did some work around the house. Laundry, cleaning, etc. – you know, all the fun stuff! Of course Gilmore girls was on the whole time I did chores. #duh. J came and picked me up after work and we headed to his parents for a cookout to celebrate his Daddio’s birthday with his family! I love them so much and I am so grateful to have so many amazing people in my life.

Saturday

4th of July! We slept in a bit, which was lovely and then just hung out for the day. I baked chocolate chip muffins – and forgot to take a picture! If you don’t Insta it, did it really happen? 😉 I used tried to use the KitchenAid Mixer by myself for the first time… haha. I hadn’t screwed the bowl in correctly and J could hear that something wasn’t right and had to come in to help. #thisiswhyIneedkitchensupervision.

Mango Mojito

We went to the Firehouse Restaurant for dinner downtown <– if you’re in the area definitely check this one out, it was amazing! — and it may be my new favorite restaurant. It’s one of J’s favorites, and I had never been so it was a fun date! I tried a mango mojito for the first time and it did not disappoint. Yum! We doubled with his sister and her fiance (always so fun! Love them.) and then watched the fireworks right on the river. Perfect :)

Baby

As we ended the night (early, because I am an old lady and was le tired) we drove past the Capitol and it was all lit up for the 4th. Sometimes I forget how lucky I am to live so close to such a beautiful landmark and so much history. It really was beautiful!

Sunday

On Sunday we had another wonderfully low key day. If you’re an Apple lover such as myself and have an iPhone have you asked Siri yet what zero divided by zero is yet? I promise it won’t disappoint. Haha! We then started looking up other funny things to ask Siri:

Siri

We went to another of my favorite restaurants in the area (Houlihan’s for you locals!) for one of J’s friend’s birthday lunch. It was so fun! Then of course I was craving a good dessert and was in search of a bakery.

Siri (I changed her voice to a British accent and it cracks me up every time. I also make her call me Linny. Anywayyyy…) found us a close by bakery and it is by far my new favorite.

Cupcake Monday

You can bet we’ll be back for Cupcake Monday!

I ended the day and weekend with a little Facetime with two of my favorite girls. This little one and her Mama!

Linny Doll

Here she is showing me her Linny doll! It’s a Barbie that she found at her Mama’s house and named Linny. I can’t even. I’m a lucky Auntie to have this little stinker in my life. :) It really was a great weekend!

How was your weekend? Did you see the fireworks? Tell me all about it!
